Wood pellet stove drives low-carbonization of the facility
February 25, 2008
In order to reduce the facility's carbon dioxide emission as well as to introduce a carbon neutral heating alternative to wider citizens, three wood pellet stoves were installed in Toyako Visitor Center in December, 2007 and January, 2008.
One unit of the stove has a capacity of 7,300 kcal/h, which is equivalent to 15% of the capacity of the boiler using fossil fuel. 2,200 liter of fossil fuel can be saved in winter with the full utilization of the three stoves. In terms of carbon dioxide, 5.5 tons of emission can be reduced in estimation.
